Jaipur serial blasts: Rajasthan Govt to appeal in Supreme Court against acquittal.

The Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot,

has declared that the state government will challenge the acquittal of the suspects in the 2008 Jaipur serial blasts case in the Supreme Court.In a meeting held at his residence, the Chief Minister stated that the decision to file a Special Leave Petition (SLP) was taken after the Rajasthan High Court overturned the district court verdict of 2019 and acquitted all the accused.

The Chief Minister expressed the intention of the state government to ensure that the culprits are given the harshest punishment for their crimes. He further stated that the government will soon file an SLP in the Supreme Court against the decision of the High Court.

In the aforementioned meeting, the Chief Minister also made the decision to terminate the services of Additional Advocate General Rajendra Yadav, who had been appointed as an advocate in the Jaipur serial blasts case.

In attendance at the meeting were several officials, including Chief Secretary Usha Sharma, Principal Government Secretary Home Anand Kumar, Director General of Police Umesh Mishra, ADG SOG ATS Ashok Rathore, ADG Intelligence S Sengthir, Principal Government Secretary Law Gyan Prakash Gupta, Secretary Home (Law) Ravi Sharma, and various others.

The Jaipur Serial blasts of May 13, 2008, resulted in the deaths of over 80 individuals and left more than 183 others injured. The Jaipur Serial blasts were caused by eight explosions that occurred in various locations throughout the city.

The decision of the Rajasthan High Court to acquit the accused in the case of Jaipur Serial blasts has been met with criticism and outrage from various quarters. The state government’s decision to file an SLP in the Supreme Court is expected to bring some relief to the victims and their families.

The SLP is a legal remedy that can be sought by a party to appeal against a decision of a court or tribunal. It is usually filed in cases where the party believes that the decision of the court or tribunal is incorrect or unjust.

The Rajasthan state government’s choice to submit a Special Leave Petition (SLP) to the Supreme Court regarding the acquittal of the suspects in the Jaipur serial blasts case carries substantial importance for multiple reasons.Firstly, it demonstrates the government’s commitment to ensuring that justice is served to the victims and their families.

Some of the accused named in the charge sheet include Shahbaz Hussain, Mohammad Saif, Mohammad Shakeel, Zeeshan Ahmed, and Salman. However, it is important to note that the legal proceedings are still ongoing, and the guilt or innocence of the accused has not been established in a court of law.
